Here Is The Flaming Lips’ ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots 2024 Tour’ Setlist

Psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips kicked off their Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots 20th anniversary tour last Saturday, and now, courtesy of Setlist.fm , we know what songs they’ll be playing in addition to their critically-hailed 2002 tenth studio album. The setlist is broken down into two pieces: the namesake album to open, followed by a selection of fan favorites from across their discography. The album recently came back into the public consciousness when the band’s de facto leader Wayne Coyne explained why famed director Aaron Sorkin dropped out of the project’s accompanying stage musical .

The Flaming Lips will continue celebrating the 20th anniversary of  Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by performing the album in full on a new run of 2024 US tour dates.

Kicking off on April 20th with a previously announced show in Jacksonville, Florida, the trek will continue with stops in New Orleans, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and more. See The Flaming Lips’ full touring itinerary below.

Flaming Lips Add ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ Anniversary Shows

The Flaming Lips have added more shows celebrating (a little belatedly) the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album , Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots .

The new dates include a trio of shows in North Carolina and Tennessee in May, which have been slotted in amongst some previously-announced Yoshimi shows. The Lips also added a slew of summer concerts, starting with a June run that includes stops in Brooklyn, Cleveland, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Omaha, and Tulsa; that’ll be followed by four West Coast shows in August in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Bonner, Montana. (A full itinerary is below, with new dates in bold.)

Tickets for the new gigs will go on sale March 3 at 10 a.m. local time, with a pre-sale scheduled for March 2 at 10 a.m. local time. Full details are available on the Flaming Lips’ website .

The Flaming Lips will kick off their busy year on the road tomorrow, Feb. 28, at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Before playing their Yoshimi anniversary shows, the band will warm up with their “An Evening With” tour , which will find them playing two-hour sets filled with material from throughout their catalog.

The Flaming Lips to play two nights at OKC Zoo Amphitheatre

O KLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — In celebration of the band’s 40th anniversary, Oklahoma psych rockers the Flaming Lips will be playing two nights at the OKC Zoo Amphitheatre.

The two-night concert event is set for Friday, August 30, and Saturday, August 31. On the first night, the Flaming Lips will perform their hit album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in its entirety, and then return to play their album The Soft Bulletin on the second night.

Tickets will be available beginning May 20 at 10 a.m. General admission lawn tickets are free with online reservation, and preferred tickets will be available to purchase. GA lawn tickets require an RSVP to attend, but doesn’t guarantee entry.

Tame Impala Frontman Kevin Parker Sells Entire Song Catalog to Sony Music Publishing

Sony Music Publishing today announced it has acquired the catalog of Tame Impala singer/ songwriter/ producer Kevin Parker , who has also worked extensively with Dua Lipa, Rihanna, SZA, Kendrick Lamar Gorillaz and more. The deal, which expands the company’s 15-year partnership with Parker, encompasses his entire catalog of songs (minus his work on Lipa’s new album) as well as future works. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Parker said of the deal, “The idea of passing on ownership of my songs is one that I don’t think about very lightly, at all. They are the fruit of my blood, sweat and creativity over all the years I’ve been a recording artist and songwriter so far. I have a lot of love and trust for the Sony publishing family and have only had great experiences with Damian Trotter and the rest of the gang worldwide. I don’t think my songs could be in any safer hands than Sony’s, and I’m excited for the future and happy I can keep working with them on whatever the future brings…”

Trotter, managing director of Sony Music Publishing Australia, said, “Kevin is a singular talent whose creativity and dedication to his art has enthralled fans and artists since he arrived on the music scene. Having worked with Kevin since before the release of the first Tame Impala album, it has been thrilling to witness his rise to success worldwide, which is so well deserved.
