HIT WEEK FESTIVAL 2023

HIT WEEK FESTIVAL 2023

Miami & los angeles.

COMA COSE

Hit Week, active since 2009, is considered the most important festival dedicated exclusively to the diffusion of the Italian music system in the world.

During the fifteen previous editions held in the United States, South America, Asia and Europe, all the major Italian artists performed in some of the most iconic places in the world. Thanks in particular to the "business oriented" activities of the festival, they were able to say their career and spread their catalog outside of Italy.

One of the missions of Hit Week has always been to create opportunities even for non-established artists who, thanks to a virtuous system focused on involving the music industry of the individual countries where the event takes place, and to the simultaneous presence of artists considered "big" have managed to achieve a visibility otherwise difficult to obtain abroad and to affirm their career and spread their catalog in those territories.

The sixteenth edition of the festival is scheduled between 13 and 18 October 2023 in the United States in the cities of Miami and Los Angeles.

The Artists

A Unique cast of talents

summer tour coma cose

Coma_Cose are California and Fausto Lama. A duo born in 2016, a couple in life and in music, which mixes experience and urban sound taste with songwriting poetics. Between February and June 2017 Coma_Cose released the first four songs with related videos and in the autumn of the same year they launched their first EP-manifesto with Asian Fake "Inverno Ticinese": the result of public and critics is explosive. In just 12 months the Coma_Cose widen their audience, begin to go on the radio and close 2018 with a hundred active concerts.

In 2019 they give life to their first album "HYPE AURA" which is followed by a year full of satisfactions and recognitions. They cross the borders of the Peninsula: they play in Paris at the opening of the Phoenix and at the Sziget Festival in Budapest. This is the year of sold out clubs, including the one at the Alcatraz in Milan which marks a pact of affection between the artists and the city of action. It is the year of May Day in Rome and New Year's Eve in Milan in Piazza Duomo. Having obtained the first FIMI certifications - "Post Concerto" (Gold Disc) and "MANCARSI" (now Platinum Disc) - Coma_Cose begins 2020 under the banner of collaborations, duetting with Subsonica and Francesca Michielin and together with the producer Stabber give birth to a new EP: “TWO”.

In 2021 they participate in the seventy-first edition of the Sanremo Festival, enchanting with the song Fiamme negli occhi, which becomes a gold single in just three weeks (to date double platinum). On April 16, 2021 they announce the release of their new album, Nostralgia, followed by the "NOSRALGIA TOUR", which has led them to perform throughout Italy in more than 30 appointments.

On November 4, 2022, "UN WONDERFUL WAY TO SALVARSI", their latest album, was released, anticipated by the single "CALL ME". They participate in the 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival (February 7-11, 2023) with the song "L'Addio" which wins the Sergio Bardotti Award for best text, and the Lunezia Award presented on the eve of the event. In just three weeks the song obtains the certification of a gold single, to date a platinum single.

For the start of their Summer Tour, Coma Cose have released a new summer single, Agosto Morsica, played in a live preview on the occasion of the duo's participation in the Concertone on May 1st in Rome, and is now available on all digital platforms.

Liverpool Alligator Park

Liverpool Alligator Park is a garage-punk duo born in Treviso (Italy) in 2018.

They released an album, two EPs and had more than 150 gigs all over Europe.

They are Francesco (drums and backing vocals) and Emanuele (guitar and vocals).

The general sound is a mix of rough and raw, but also catchy and melodic. Their rock n’ roll tracks go straight to the point. They are all under the crucial 3-minute length and are inspired by garage-rock, punk and by post-punk vibes, on the edge of hardcore-punk.

LAP recorded their first album “LAP” at Matt Bordin’s Outside Inside Studio. The album was released in physical and digital formats on April 1st, 2022, by La Cepé Records (FR).

Many Italian and International magazines shared encouraging words for LAP’s works and they had the opportunity to share the stage with amazing artists such as The Shivas and Tess Parks.

Live gigs are definitely the strong point of the duo, as they never spare themselves; life on tour is a great privilege and, knowing this, the band wants to leave a unique memory on every stage they set foot on.

In 2022, they were involved in two European tours and during the summer - among playing at various festivals - they completed the production of their new album with the help of Paolo Canaglia at the Act Cool Studios in London (UK).

The new album will be released by the end of 2023.

Emanuele and Francesco are currently involved in International tours and studio sessions with two other Italian bands: New Candys and Glazyhaze.

After the release of the new album, they plan to go back on the road as alligators.

Concerto Coma Cose Palazzo Te Mantova 1/9/2023

Keanu Reeves' band Dogstar announces summer 2024 tour for their first album in 20 years

summer tour coma cose

Keanu Reeves and his band Dogstar are going back on the road.

Following the group's first performance in 20 years last summer, Dogstar announced Tuesday that its members are embarking on the Summer Vacation Tour 2024 across North America.

"We can’t wait to see everyone! Thank you all for all the love and support," drummer Rob Mailhouse commented under the band's Instagram post. "We can feel it every time we take the stage. ❤️"

Dogstar, currently on tour in Europe, will be visiting 29 cities starting with the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 8. Their last show is Dana Point, California's Ohana Fest on Sept. 27.

The pre-sale begins Wednesday at noon local time; tickets can be found at dogstarofficial.com .

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Last October, Dogstar — which comprises Reeves, Mailhouse and guitarist/vocalist Bret Domrose — came out with its first album in two decades, a 12-track record titled "Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees." It was released by their own label, Dillon Street Records and featured their single "Everything Turns Around."

The "John Wick" star, the alt-rock band's bassist, formed the band with Mailhouse and the group's original guitarist and lead singer Gregg Miller in 1991.

Before ending their 20-year hiatus with a performance at BottleRock Napa Valley music festival in northern California last May, Reeves told  Billboard  that being with Dogstar was "something I’ve always missed."

"I missed playing together, I missed writing together, I missed doing shows together," he said. "We came to a spot where we weren’t playing anymore, and I missed it … Once we started to play, and it felt good, and really positive and creative, that’s when it was like, 'OK, let’s make this happen.'"

"I think all three of us just said, ‘Well, if we’re going to do this, let’s make a record,'" Reeves said. Domrose added, "We just knew that there was ‘X’ amount of time, and we needed to make the most of it. We just locked on as wanting to make this record, and it happened pretty quickly."

At the Napa Valley festival, the band played tracks from the previous albums, 1996’s "Our Little Visionary" and 2000’s "Happy Ending," as well as several songs from their yet-unreleased "Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees."

Three months later, Dogstar went on to tour two dozen cities in North America and Japan in its Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees Tour.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash – it's last orders for Clarkson, May and Hammond at the petrolhead saloon

H as The Grand Tour (Amazon Prime Video) run out of road? It’s undoubtedly hit a few potholes following reports Amazon has opted not to renew a show for which it broke the bank just seven years ago. James May put it in melancholic terms when he recently likened the spiritual successor to Jeremy Clarkson-era Top Gear to a “party that has reached its natural end”.

May and his automotive amigos, Clarkson and Richard Hammond, certainly look as if they’ve had enough fuel-injected derring-do for several lifetimes at the opening of their latest special, which sees them traverse central Europe, from Gdansk in Poland to Lake Bled in Slovenia. It’s occasionally enjoyable and full of their familiar silliness (at one point, they kidnap a waxwork effigy of Nigel Mansell). But May is correct: it does feel like last orders at the petrolhead saloon.

The action begins with the trio on a ferry on the Baltic Sea, their complexions greyer than the ocean. The bone-weariness is particularly pronounced in the case of Clarkson. When shooting took place last summer, did he have a premonition about the controversy that would engulf him with that widely condemned Sun column about the Duchess of Sussex? Pale and distracted, he is haunted by something.

That The Grand Tour might be running on empty was already apparent from their previous outing, last September’s A Scandi Flick . It almost ended in tragedy, with May hospitalised after smashing his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 into a wall at 75 mph. He recovered – but there were echoes of the 2006 Top Gear crash that put Hammond in a coma. As May said at the time, maybe they were getting too old for this.

The world is undoubtedly less friendly to chummy chaps in late middle-age who like to drive fast and poke fun at the locals. In the preamble to their latest adventure, they reveal several of their preferred destinations are off-limits. Syria and Mozambique are too dangerous. Clarkson is banned from India (presumably because of something controversial he said). A sprint across the Sahara is vetoed on the grounds of “too much terrorism” – although they may have since revised that opinion as they recently finished filming their last contracted Amazon special in Mauritania and Senegal.

Either way, for the time being it’s Poland or bust. They set their GPS for Gdansk and embark on a 1,400-mile trip through the country and over to Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. En route they do their best to get into the spirit of the endeavour. There are the standard wacky cars. Clarkson drives a baroque Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, May a Crosley, a miniaturised runabout invented by an eccentric 1930s American fridge magnate. Activities have been arranged, including a visit to an old-school “Formula Easter” race that has its roots in the Communist era.

It isn’t quite the chequered flag moment for which they had hoped. Hammond limps away from another crash. Clarkson becomes stuck in one of the speeders, which has to be dismantled around him.

“It’s because you’re fat!” hoots Hammond. Clarkson pretends to be amused. Later they visit the real-life POW camp from the Great Escape and are shot at by archers in Hungary. The series ends with a rickety set-piece whereby the gang attempt to drive on to a cargo plane as it chugs down the runway. It’s like a recycled Tom Cruise stunt: Mission Compostable .

“On that terrible disappointment – we’ll see you next time,” says Clarkson as final credits roll. But will there be a next time? With Amazon yet to renew the series, it’s possible that they’ve reached the end and that their recently-filmed Senegal episode will be their final bow. In which case, what a shame that, rather than go out in a blaze of glory, The Grand Tour feels as if it is shuddering to a wheezing halt.

Jennifer Lopez has canceled her 2024 North American tour, representatives for Live Nation confirmed to The Associated Press.

“Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends,” they said in a statement.

The tour was to be her first in five years, in support of her first solo album in a decade, “This Is Me... Now" and its companion film.

The tour was scheduled to kick off on June 26 in Orlando, Florida, and conclude in Houston on Aug. 31. Live Nation shared that attendees who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.

Lopez offered her own statement to fans on her OntheJLo website and newsletter, writing, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary."

She continued: “I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”

“This Is Me... Now” was released early this year, 20 years after her hit album, “This Is Me... Then.” Lopez told the AP that the new album was a “miracle” and “a second chance. And I’d love to capture this moment in time the way that album captured that moment in time.”
