All the excitement of the PGA Tour season concludes this weekend with the Tour Championship.

The top 30 players will battle for the FedExCup in the serenity of Georgia's East Lake Golf Club.

The event's purse is $75 million, with the winner receiving $18 million of that.

Last year, Rory McIlroy won his third championship and FedEx Cup, becoming the first player with that many titles. The Northern Ireland maestro beat out American Scottie Scheffler after making up six strokes in the final round.

2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational: How to watch, TV schedule, streaming, tee times

All the stars of the PGA Tour are back in action this week for the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament, including a full TV schedule, streaming schedule and complete tee times for the first and second rounds.

API preview

Can anyone stop Jon Rahm ? That’s the primary question heading into this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, the third designated PGA Tour event in four weeks. Rahm, the new World No. 1, captured the last designated event, the Genesis Invitational, along with its $3.6 million winner’s check. That win moved him back into No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

But two other recent No. 1s will be battling Rahm for those honors at Bay Hill: Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy . Scheffler briefly reclaimed the No. 1 spot after defending his title at the WM Phoenix Open. He wrested the top ranking from McIlroy that week, before losing it to Rahm in short order.

With No. 1 and another $20 million on the line, fans are in for an entertaining week of golf.

Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Peacock will stream the action online, with ESPN+ providing exclusive early coverage of all four rounds.

Canadian Open 2024: How to Watch and Stream All the PGA Tour Golf From Anywhere

Nick Taylor looks to defend his crown as the Tour heads to the Hamilton Golf and Country Club.

pga tour on this weekend

Nick Taylor will try to make history once more as he looks to defend his title at the Canadian Open this weekend.

An epic 72-foot playoff putt saw Taylor clinch last year's title ahead of Tommy Fleetwood, a shot that saw him become the first Canadian to win this tournament since Pat Fletcher back in 1954.

Taylor's win last year ended a run of two wins in a row for Rory McIlroy, and the Irish star is being widely backed by the bookies to return to winning ways in this tournament alongside last year's runner-up, Fleetwood.

Keep reading to find out the best live TV streaming services to use to watch each day of the tournament live wherever you are in the world.

How to watch the the Canadian Open 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view the tournament locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the tournament. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Looking for other options? Be sure to check out some of the other great VPN deals taking place right now.

Quick tips for streaming the Canadian Open 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble getting the tournament after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Golfer Grayson Murray died by suicide, family confirms

Pro golfer Grayson Murray’s family has confirmed he died by suicide after news of his death shocked the sports community over the weekend.

Murray, a two-time PGA Tour winner, died Saturday , the day after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 30 years old.

His parents, Eric and Terry Murray, s aid in a statement Sunday that “life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.”

“We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone,” they wrote. “It’s surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It’s a nightmare.”

Murray, who gained full status on the PGA Tour in 2017, won the Barbasol Championship that year at age 23.

Last year, he scored two wins on the Korn Ferry Tour, at the AdventHealth Championship in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Simmons Bank Open outside Nashville, Tennessee.

Murray went on to win the Sony Open in Hawaii this year — hitting a wedge shot to 3 feet for birdie on the final hole to get into a playoff and winning it with a 40-foot putt.

Murray had been open about having struggled with alcoholism and mental health. At a news conference after he won the Sony Open in January, he told reporters that he used to drink during tournament weeks and that alcohol was his “outlet.”

“That was over seven years ago, and I’m a different man now,” he said. “And I would not be in this position right now today if I didn’t put that drink down eight months ago.”

Murray also shared that he struggled with anxiety and depression, which he said “stemmed a lot from alcohol use,” and that he suffered from self-esteem issues. But his life changed, he said, when he stopped “trying to fight it alone” and decided to ask for help.

“There were days where I didn’t want to get out of bed. I just thought I was a failure. I always looked at myself as a failure. I thought I had a lot of talent that was just a waste of talent,” he said. “And it was a bad place, but like I said, you have to have courage. You have to have the willingness to keep going. And lo and behold, that’s what I did.”

In their statement, his parents wrote: “We have so many questions that have no answers. But one. Was Grayson loved? The answer is yes. By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and — it seems — by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed.”

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan also s aid in a s tatement Saturday that he was “devastated” to learn of Murray’s death that morning.

“The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same,” he said. “We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.”

Grief counselors will be available at this week’s PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour events, the news release said.

The parents of professional golfer Grayson Murray on Sunday said the two-time PGA Tour winner died by suicide Saturday morning.

"We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone," Eric and Terry Murray said in a statement. "It's surreal that we not only have to admit it to ourselves, but that we also have to acknowledge it to the world. It's a nightmare.

"... Life wasn't always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now."

Grayson Murray, 30, withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial after the 16th hole of Friday's second round in Fort Worth, Texas. The PGA Tour cited the reason as illness.

"We have so many questions that have no answers. But one. Was Grayson loved? The answer is yes," his parents said in their statement. "By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and -- it seems -- by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed.

"We would like to thank the PGA Tour and the entire world of golf for the outpouring of support. Please respect our privacy as we work through this incredible tragedy, and please honor Grayson by being kind to one another. If that becomes his legacy, we could ask for nothing else."

Many players competing at Colonial on Sunday wore black-and-red pins on their caps in honor of Murray. Those are the colors of the Carolina Hurricanes , his favorite NHL team.

"Obviously it was pretty difficult to come play golf," said Scottie Scheffler , who tied for second at Colonial. "But like his parents said, he would have wanted the tournament to continue."

Murray spoke about alcohol and mental health in the past, saying he used to drink during tournament weeks as a rookie because he knew he had talent and believed he was invincible. He made a massive turnaround this year and won the Sony Open, hitting a wedge to 3 feet for birdie on the final hole to get into a playoff and winning it with a 40-foot putt.

"It took me a long time to get to this point," Murray said in January. "That was seven years ago, over seven years ago. I'm a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn't put that drink down eight months ago."

He also won the Barbasol Championship as a 22-year-old PGA Tour rookie in 2017.

Murray, who was No. 58 in the world ranking, was coming off a tie for 43rd in the PGA Championship last week at Valhalla. He also made the cut in his Masters debut, finishing 51st, and was in the field for next month's U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

Murray, who grew up in North Carolina, was among the most talented juniors in the country. He won the prestigious Junior World championship in San Diego three straight years and earned the Arnold Palmer Scholarship at Wake Forest.

His first coach was Ted Kiegiel in North Carolina, who like so many others was devastated.

"Words cannot express the tragedy of this moment," Kiegiel said in a statement sent to The Associated Press. "Grayson came from something that was ordinary and made it EXTRAORDINARY. ... He burned bright for the 30 years he gave us."

Murray wound up going to three colleges, lastly at Arizona State.

Murray said when he won the Sony Open in January that he had been sober for eight months, was engaged to be married and believed his best golf was ahead of him. He was appointed to the PGA Tour's 16-member player advisory council the same month.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, who flew to Texas on Saturday, said grief counselors were on site at the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour event.

"To be in the locker room, to see the devastation on the faces of every player that's coming in, it's really difficult to see. And really just profound," Monahan said during the CBS broadcast Saturday.

"Grayson was a remarkable player on the PGA Tour, but he was a very courageous man, as well. And I've always loved that about him, and I know that the locker room is filled with people that really will take that away when they think about Grayson."

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray died by suicide Saturday morning . He was 30 years old.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed Murray’s death in a statement Saturday. On Sunday, Murray’s family said in a statement that he had killed himself.

“The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same,” Monahan said in the statement. “We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.”

On Friday, Murray withdrew from the second round of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, citing an illness. He had finished all but the final two holes in the round. He had bogeyed the final three holes and was 5-over-par, which ended up being the cut line.

Monahan said he spoke with Murray’s parents, who requested the tournament to continue.

“They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so,” Monahan said. “As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes.”

Bubba Watson, a 12-time PGA Tour winner, paid tribute to Murray on X and recalled seeing Murray at this year’s Masters.

“Very sad to hear the news of Grayson Murray’s passing today. Life is so fragile,” Watson tweeted. “I was just hugging you at the Masters, telling you how proud of you I am. Thankful to have known you. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. He will be missed.”

Very sad to hear the news of Grayson Murray’s passing today. Life is so fragile… I was just hugging you at the Masters, telling you how proud of you I am. Thankful to have known you. My deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. He will be missed. — bubba watson (@bubbawatson) May 25, 2024

Murray had publicly battled alcoholism and mental health issues, but he returned to form and earned his PGA Tour card back this fall and won the Sony Open in Hawaii in January . He made the cut at both the Masters and the PGA Championship the last two months and finished T10 at the signature event Wells Fargo Championship just two weeks ago. He was ranked as the No. 58 player in the world by the Official World Golf Ranking.

Peter Malnati spoke on the CBS broadcast about Murray, who he played with the first two days of the Charles Schwab Challenge.

“We all want to beat each other. And then something like this happens and you realize we’re all just humans,” Malnati said, fighting back tears. “It’s a really hard day.

“You look at Grayson and you see him. Someone who has visibly outwardly struggled in the past. And he’s been open about it. You see him kind of get his life back to a place where he’s feeling good about things. It’s just so sad.”

A North Carolina native who attended Wake Forest, East Carolina and Arizona State during his collegiate career, Murray became the second youngest player to make the cut at a Korn Ferry Tour event at 16, and he played as an amateur in the U.S. Open at 19. He quickly earned a PGA Tour card as a professional in 2017 and won the Barbasol Championship that year for his first win on tour.

Over time, Murray became known for his angry outbursts on the course and the PGA Tour putting him on probation three years ago for an incident at a hotel bar, also in Hawaii. He tweeted after the incident, “Why was I drunk? Because I’m a f—ing alcoholic that hates everything to do with the PGA Tour life and that’s my scapegoat.” He then accused the tour of not giving him proper help, which the tour denied.

After struggles on and off the course, Murray said he received treatment for addiction and won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023.

“There are days where I didn’t want to get out of bed,” Murray said after his win in January. “I just thought I was a failure. I always looked at myself as a failure. I thought I had a lot of talent that was just a waste of talent. It was a bad place, but like I said, you have to have courage. You have to have the willingness to keep going. Lo and behold, that’s what I did, and I’m here, and I’m so blessed and I’m thankful.”

If you or someone you know may be considering suicide or is in crisis, call or text 9-8-8 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Grayson Murray, a 30-year-old professional golfer and two-time PGA Tour winner, died on Saturday.

He died by suicide, his family said.

"We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone," his parents Eric and Terry Murray said in a statement on Sunday shared by the PGA Tour. "It’s a nightmare."

Murray had spoken publicly about his struggles with depression and unhealthy alcohol use and how those issues fueled some of his lowest points in his professional career.

"Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now," his parents said in the statement.

His death came a day after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge, citing an unspecified illness. Playing in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday he was 5 over par when he pulled out during the second round of the tournament with two holes remaining.

The PGA Tour announced his death in a statement on Saturday: "We were devastated to learn — and are heartbroken to share — that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said in the statement . “The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones. “

At age 23, the Raleigh, N.C., native won his first PGA Tour title with the Barbasol Championship in 2017 — his rookie year. But his game struggled in the seasons that followed, according to the PGA Tour press release.

At the Sony Open, he recalled that first year on the PGA Tour. “I was young and thought I was invincible — wasn’t doing the correct stuff off the course to really give myself the best chance to succeed out here,” he told reporters.

Last year, he found success again on the Korn Ferry Tour, placing fourth and earning back his spot on the PGA Tour.

He appeared to be on a career comeback after winning the Sony Open in Hawaii in January — his first PGA Tour victory in seven years.

At the time, he credited sobriety and his supportive family for helping him feel “more at peace inside the ropes.”

“I’m over eight months sober now. I have a beautiful fiancée that I love so much and who is so supportive of me, and my parents are so supportive of me,” he said . “They’re right there with me when I do have those hard days.”

In addition to his parents, Murray is survived by his brother Cameron and sister Erica.

His parents thanked the golfing community for its support in the wake of their son's death.

They also issued a plea — to "honor Grayson by being kind to one another."

"If that becomes his legacy, we could ask for nothing else," their statement read.
