(A.K.A.: bonus booty). The Skipper's evil plot was foiled because he had underestimated his 1st mate. Gilligan was actually a brilliant detective who had been investigating nefarious goings-on at The Tropic Port, and had traced them to the Skipper and his gang of scoundrels. His bumbling goofy demeanor (a la Colombo) and seemingly silly high-jinks enabled him to thwart the Skipper at every turn, while at the same time keeping the other castaways from becoming alarmed. The Professor got hip to what was going down pretty quick, and assisted Gilligan in any way he could. Although most of the engineering ideas came from the Professor (coconut telephones, etc.), he actually had to consult Gilligan for a lot of his more hard-core science diversions, since Gilligan had PhDs in both nuclear physics and organic chemistry. It all started on a small sailing vessel (S. S. Minnow) at a port in Hawaii. A "Skipper') was a large, courageous man. The marine experience between the two sailors would turn out to be invaluable to the survival of the story to come. On this particular day, the Captain and his First Mate were taking five passengers on a sight-seeing tour. GLENDALE, Ariz. – In March 2023, Taylor Swift wowed fans with a dream show at her first concert tour in five years.

At State Farm Stadium outside of Phoenix, the iconic singer-songwriter unveiled a massive 44-song setlist plus two surprise songs that, appropriately, tagged every frame of her 18-year-career.

Swift’s titanic production – complete with themed sets, outfits that represent notable moments in her album catalog and visuals that stun – wrapped its first U.S. leg last fall then headed to Asia and Australia.

The tour hit Paris May 9, following the release of her record-breaking album " The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology ." Ever the deft adapter, Swift made shifts in the eras, adding in "TTPD" songs and subtracting others. Read on for the updated setlist, minus the two surprise songs she adds to each performance.

Taylor Swift fans are sharing their health tips and hydration plans for the singer’s 3-hour show

Taylor Swift’s long awaited Era’s tour is finally here. The tour—which caused a TicketMaster crash after more than 2 million people rushed the site to snag seats in a single day late last year—debuted in Glendale, Arizona this past weekend. 

While the lucky bunch of first concert goers swarmed social media to share their favorite songs, outfits, and moments from the show—including Swift appearing to dive through and swim across the stage—they are also giving their fellow fans a PSA more urgent than brushing up on lyrics from her debut album. The message: stay hydrated, and have a bathroom plan. 

The concert totaled 44 songs spanning three hours, which exceeds the typical length of artists’ stadium tours. But it’s no surprise as the 12-time Grammy award-winning singer, who broke streaming records after the release of her latest album “Midnights,” will perform songs spanning the course of her nearly two-decade-long career. 

TikToks since the weekend are captioned with both the #taylorswiftconcert and #stayhydrated hashtags. One TikToker posted a video with the writing, “I know I need to save money to spend a ridiculous amount on water from the stadium so I can stay hydrated during my show.” 

Some fans say they will stay, “the most hydrated in their life,” to be sure they don’t lose out on any hype. While others say watch out for sporting layered outfits and heels, which will inevitably make speedy bathroom breaks more challenging, not to mention be less comfortable for the three hours. Another fan with tickets in April tells the Wall Street Journal she “plans to hydrate sparingly with Liquid I.V., a powder that is mixed with water and promises an energy boost.” 

During a five-year hiatus from the stage, Swift recorded four albums including new pandemic-era hits that struck a chord during lockdown. She has also re-recorded old hits, adding an expanded 10-minute version of a fan favorite from the “Red” album. 

Of course, she has to give each album their due attention, and fans know all too well they must prepare in advance of their marathon.

And now that the set list is far from a secret, people on social media are divulging their “bathroom break” song, knowing they will likely have to step out during the course of the show at least once. 

But one dedicated fan has another plan. “I fought for six hours of my life to get these tickets. I have never seen Taylor Swift before. I will wear a f****** diaper before I leave my seat at Eras,” the fan shares on TikTok.

Swift’s excited but equally concerned fans wonder how the singer belts nearly 50 songs while staying hydrated and using the restroom herself. While only a select few know what really happens between sets, it’s clear the artist’s stamina does not go unnoticed. 

“Sure, Springsteen and Prince played these legendary long shows, but they were not singing the entire time. They had bands, and a whole lot of instrumental work that extended out the show,” Nathan Hubbard, former Ticketmaster chief executive and co-host of the Ringer’s “Every Single Album: Taylor Swift” podcast series, tells the Wall Street Journal . 

Still, it doesn’t mean fans cannot take a break just because their idol keeps cranking out album after album. In fact, it is important to prepare so you can best enjoy the concert.  …Ready for it?

Concert health tips  

Swift fans’ concern for hydration is not without basis. With long stints of standing and high-energy activity, hydration helps regulate the body’s temperature and avoid lightheadedness and fatigue.

Alcohol and drinks high in sugar content can cause the body to lose fluids quicker and put people at risk for dehydration. Concert-goers should focus on water and electrolytes, which can keep you energized, and help replenish the salt lost if you’re sweating. 

When attending a concert, especially a lengthy one like Swift’s, hydrating in the days and hours up to the event will help. While standard guidance touts 64 oz. of water per day, dancing and jumping (and screaming) will require more fluids so your body can keep up with your energy. 

Especially after concerts ceased during the pandemic, people may also feel overwhelmed being in crowds again, which can trigger a stress response in the body. 

Singer Maggie Rogers, who is on tour for her album “Surrender,” spoke out last month after noticing people’s increased anxiety at concerts.

“So something is happening on this tour that we have never ever experienced before,” she says on TikTok . “Which is that we’re seeing more people than ever either pass out or have panic attacks in the audience.” 

Experts suggest taking breaks if you feel overwhelmed, sitting down and focusing on your breath. 

Swift’s marathons continue, as she will perform for 52 dates across the U.S. ending the tour at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles in August.

Or when flight attendants shout out a fanbase making a pilgrimage to see a tour opener? Or when TikToks of merch inspirations and setlist predictions rack up millions of views? Nearly a decade ago, a headline ran declaring ‘ Taylor Swift Is The Music Industry’ and those with even the slightest pulse on pop culture can tell she’s only grown more omnipresent since. It all led to a warm evening in Glendale, Arizona where months after delivering her most commercially-successful album to date, Midnights , Swift debuted a discography-spanning setlist that lasted over three hours and kicked off an aptly-named stadium run. The Eras Tour has arrived.

After night had fallen and GAYLE and Paramore revved the crowd up with a mix of recent chart-toppers (GAYLE’s “abcdefu”) and cultural anthems (Paramore’s “Misery Business”), it was time for the main event. At 7:57pm, a timer appeared on a massive screen prompting screams from all corners of State Farm Stadium. Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” played as fans braced themselves for the arrival of Swift. Taylor Swift Sang Her Entire 3-Hour Eras Setlist While Running on the Treadmill Every Day

Swift, who was named ‘2023 Person of the Year’ by Time, also stopped drinking alcohol to prepare for her tour.

Taylor Swift had to train a lot more than just her vocal cords to get in shape for her blockbuster Eras Tour.

The singer-songwriter, 33, explained just how much effort she devoted to supporting her health in the months leading up to the tour in an interview with Time , which named her Person of the Year. Getting ready required a special workout routine six months before the tour went on the road, Swift told Time .

“I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot,” Swift told Time. “I finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly.”

Shows on the Eras Tour clock in at more than three hours, with more than 40 songs and 16 costume changes, Time reports. Swift said she started training six months before the tour opened in March.

“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” Swift told Time. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”

As if this wasn’t already enough of a workout routine, Swift said that her gym, Dogpound, created a cross-training program for her to incorporate weights, strength, and conditioning.

Swift also said she turned to choreographer Mandy Moore, who helped prep Emma Stone for those gorgeous dance sequences in La La Land, to get her in shape for the rigorous dance routines required on her tour. These extra dance practices started three months before the tour.

“I wanted to get it in my bones,” Swift said. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”

About a month before the tour opened in Glendale, Arizona, Swift went there to start doing full run throughs in the stadium several times a week.

And unlike previous tours when Swift said she acted “like a frat guy,” she said she stopped drinking to aid her rigorous preparations for Eras.

“I was really disciplined about drinking,” Swift said. “I stopped drinking for a couple months before the show except for on Grammy night, which was hilarious. I gave myself a fun night for that one.” Then she went right back to embracing sobriety for the rest of the tour. “Doing that show with a hangover, I don't want to know that world.”

At most stops on the tour, Swift performed three back-to-back shows. Swift credited her endurance in part to “dead days” for resting between each of these stops. “I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there,” Swift said. “It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels. But it’s the most fulfilled I’ve ever felt.”

'Lack of trust' between ADF and Queensland police plagued Taipan helicopter crash investigation, inquiry hears

An army chaplain, tasked with consoling the families of four defence personnel who died in the Taipan helicopter crash off Queensland's coast last year, has denied telling a partner she would "find somebody new".

Captain Danniel Lyon, Lieutenant Maxwell Nugent, Warrant Officer Class Two Joseph Laycock, and Corporal Alexander Naggs died when their helicopter crashed into the ocean off Lindeman Island in July 2023 during a training exercise.

An independent inquiry examining the circumstances that led to the ill-fated crash has started its third phase of public hearings in Brisbane.

In the months after the crash, Chaplain Bruce Hammonds — who served as a reservist with the 6th Aviation Regiment — was accused of telling the partner of Lieutenant Nugent, Chadine Whyte, she was "young" and would "find somebody new".

"Which is an incredibly cruel thing to say because [my partner is] not replaceable," Ms Whyte told the inquiry in May.

Chaplain Hammonds denied the accusation during questioning by Colonel Jens Streit, who is assisting former judge Margaret McMurdo in the inquiry, but admitted his recollection of that day was not accurate.

"I would never have used those words," he said.

"She'd suffered significant loss. I certainly was not dismissive of her or minimised the pain or grief she was feeling."

In a separate incident, Chaplain Hammonds was accused of telling the widow of Captain Danniel Lyon, Caitland Lyon, that hosting his funeral on Father's Day would be "disrespectful" to her own father and future partners.

"I wanted to encourage her not to have it on that date, because of the implications of Father's Day … not just for her family but for the whole regiment," he said.

"I didn't suggest she would find somebody, but that life would move forward.

"I didn't use the words disrespect, I wanted her to honour [her own father]."

The inquiry was told, since joining the army in late 2010, Chaplain Hammonds underwent minimal formal training in the process of notifying bereaved families.

'Lack of trust' between QPS and ADF

The inquiry also heard trust and communication issues plagued the relationship between the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) during the initial investigation and recovery.

"It was like daily head-banging against the wall," Senior Constable Christian Troeger, a Forensic Crash Investigator involved in the recovery mission, told the inquiry.

"The lack of information sharing … it's very easy to believe there was a lack of trust across all gambits of the investigation."

Previous inquiry sittings heard witnesses raised concerns about the integrity of QPS's handling of the investigation.

Despite only undergoing a "very basic" training course on air crash investigations, Senior Constable Troeger was sent to the Whitsundays to assist in the recovery operation on July 31, 2023, four days after the incident.

He told the inquiry the ADF was dismissive of police expertise, and that he believed the defence force was not sharing crucial evidence.

"We had concerns that once the technical information from the flight recorder had been surrendered to the ADF, that information would not have been received by us," Senior Constable Troeger said.

"When debris was obtained, everything had to be cleansed and sanitised."

Experts, members of the QPS, and members of the 6th Aviation Regiment are due to give evidence this week.

The inquiry continues.
