Day 1 - Cochin : Arrive Cochin international airport / railway station and proceed to KTDC Bolgatty Palace Resort in Cochin, which is around 33 KM away and approximate travel time is 46 minutes. Enjoy your lunch and after noon go for half day sightseeing tour in cochin. The cochin sightseeing itinerary includes Fort Kochi, Cherai Beach, Church of Saint Francis, Kochi, Hill Palace Museum, Paradesi Synagogue etc.

Day 2 - Munnar : Enjoy your breakfast from KTDC Bolgatty Palace and proceed to Munnar, which is around 120 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours and 30 minutes. On the way you can enjoy the beauty of Neriamangalam bridge which is built in 1935. The other sightseeing on the way to Munnar from cochin are Cheeyappara & Valara waterfalls, Karadipara view point etc. Check in the KTDC Tea County Resort and relax for the day.

Day 3 - Munnar : After breakfast, proceed for Munnar full day sightseeing. You can visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Anamudi, Pothamedu View Point, The Blossom International Park, Tea Museum, Attukad Waterfalls, Top Station, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, Photo point, Lockhart Gap View, Chokramudi Peak, Munnar View Point etc. Evening back to resort and enjoy campfire and delicious dinner.

Day 4 - Thekkady : Enjoy your breakfast from Munnar resort and proceed to Thekkady, which is 85 KM away and approximate travel time is 3 hours. Day 8 - Kovalam Beach : Get up early in the morning and enjoy the beauty of the sunrise on the beach and back to the hotel for your breakfast. Now its the time for some local sightseeing near Kovalam. You can enjoy your lunch from outside. In the afternoon come back to the KTDC Samudra hotel in Kovalam and relax for some time. “KTDC tour Package” Review of Kerala

We took a 5N 6D package tour of kerala through Kerala Tourism’s KTDC. It was a good decision taken by us. We had a wonderful time in Kerala only because of KTDC. We booked our package through net easily through KTDCs website. One bad thing was that even after booking of package we were not given any e-recipt or even a scanned copy of recipt, though they did provided with recipt numbers. The tour is very hectic and ktdc picks tourists from airport and take them directly to Munnar (6 Hr. Drive). As we had two small kids we took an evening flight to Cochin, a day before and stayed at Saj earth Resort (10min. Drive from airport) which was a wonderful hotel, arranged our driver to pick us up next day at 10 am. Its better to finish the drive in day time because of difficult terrain. In the package we are dependent a lot on the driver which are well chosen by KTDC. Ours knew a little hindi and English too. It is of most importance that one knows the list of places in advance, because one is dependent on driver all the time and several times he pushes for some places where he has a cut and tries to discourage one from original tourist points. Like our driver tied to push us hard for Kathakali and Kalaripayattu demonstration, though we were interested but because of our small kids we could not sit for 2 hrs. So we decided against it. Moreover we were too tired and nauseated because of mountain sickness to even sit somewhere. There are many such demonstrations everywhere in Kerala but some places give huge cuts to driver. We did take one elephant ride forced by the driver, though we did enjoyed a lot but it also had a cut for driver. We paid 850 INR for one elephant ride and we had to mention our car’s number (for what reason??, obviously for the driver’s cut). In the end we had to pay 100 INR More for the elephant’s food (which we did with pleasure, but shouldn’t it be included in the fees). In Munnar one stays at Tea county which is a marvellous hotel see my review of TEA COUNTY. Day 2 is again Munnar visit to local places like Tea museum, which is a small factory basically where some old equipments are kept and then there is tea shop where one can buy different varieties of tea, saffron, coffee etc. Day 3 is transfer to Aranya Niwas in Periyar wildlife sanctuary (Thekkady), with sightseeing on way. There is a dam with name of Mammalapatty, dam itself is not worth time but the speed boat in the reservoir is worth the time and money. Here fees was around 200 INR per head free for kids (<5yrs.). We even had the luck to see some wild elephants bathing at shore. Another point is Ernaculam national park. Because of the high season there were lots of people with a long line of tourists waiting to enter a minibus for an hr. Ride in the park. Weather was hot so we decided against it. Echo point is again one can give pass. There is a beautiful flower garden which one must visit. One more point is view point which definitely has a beautiful view with tea gardens in the backgroubd and is good for a family snap. Aranya Niwas is a good hotel, see my review. Boating in Periyar sanctuary is a must. One can talk to the driver to contact reception of Aranya Niwas for the assured boating trip of same day (at 3:30 Pm). Or wait for next days first trip at 7 am, which is better if no small kids are there. Day 4 is transfer to Waterscapes (Kumarakom). See my review of waterscapes. Its a beautiful place. Do not eat north Indian food here. Also local cuisine of keral includes beef, duck seafood, so if you want the taste good duck and local Coconut wine, ask the KTDC driver, u can trust him on that. Day 5 is transfer to Bolgatty Island resort which is a beautiful place, see my review. On way one can see folklore museum, which is a private museum, beautiful and we were forced a lot by our driver so we had suspicion of his cut in the museums fees, which was hefty. Still its a good museum and worth a visit. There is another museum by the name of “Dutch Palace” which is a government museum and a must visit, but our driver deferred us to go there a lot (may because of no cut) but still we went there and found it better than the folklore museum. Dont miss. There is another place by the name of Dutch synagogue which is must for Christians. We had food at a restaurant in Fort Cochi by the name of “Charriot beach restaurant” (see my photos) where I had good and cheap prawn curry with rice. Many foreigners too throng this place. Its near Ramada. Finally driver drops the tourist at the airport finishing the package and asks you to write a feedback on him and KTDC hotels, do so liberally.

We have enjoyed our tour to kerala a lot. Thanks to Iris Holidays for planning such a beautiful trip. Thanks to Miss Jain for doing the booking and customising our tour plans. She solved our querries immediately. Thhroughout the entire she and Mr Joshy kept in touch with us for any problem and were quick enough to respond to our querries. The Hotels were very good and they have instructed the hotel people to take special care for us. We stayed at Hotel Fort Queen at Kochi. A deluxe room were booked for us. However they upgraded to a Suite without any extra charge. In munnar we stayed at Misty Mountain resort in a Valley View room. The view of the Munnar valley from the room was very beautifull. At thekkady we stayed at Ranger Woods nature Castle where also they upgraded our room without any charges. I would suggest to spend at least 2 days in Thekkady and avail the full day jeep saffary if you really want to have a feel of the forest. Finally we spend 2 days at Kovalam at Uday Samudra leisure beach resort. The resort was really good and is situated just beside the samudra beach, which is somewhat less crowded and you can enjoy some privacy with your companion there. last but not the least I should thanks Mr. Salil, our driver throughout the tour for his sweet behaviour able guidance so that we can have maximum coverage in minimum time. I would strongly recommend Iris Holidays for there customer friendly attitude and care they take to make your holidays enjoyable and hassle free.

I simply agree to Kerala called as 'Gods own Country' and it is. The backwater, the house boat rides and stay, the sumptous Kerala food, the hospitality from Keralites makes me and my family fly to Kerala for vacations time and again. Morover, this is one place where most people understand universal langauage - English. Hence one doesnt have to worry from which part of the world he/she is, as long as you can speak English, you can survive here. The authentic Kerala food is simply amazing. Plenty of choices for Vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I have travelled extensively across Kerala and have never faced transport and food issues, being vegetarian too. A place must visit in lifetime ! It is a state where everyone can enjoy their vacation, there is must see for each, depending on your choice - Amazing temples, churches, Sea side resorts, shacks for foodies, backwater, boat house, hill stations, or simple long drive on mesmerizing scenic highways.

Waynaad , Kumarakom , Koval might be places that one might consider visiting to avoid the beaten track . Places Visited 1. Munnar - A good place to spend a day and night 2. Alleypey - Boat house experience is really good 3. Thekaddy - Good place if you do the whole day trip of national forest Munnar - Hills , Locale were very beautiful . Picking a Hotel - Most important aspect of choosing a hotel is the view that the hotel offers and how far it is from main city . Duration One Night and one day is suffice Allepey - House boat experience is really good . Picking a house boat - One way to differenciate a good house boat from old one . Ask if the house boat has LCD TV , Top floor viewing deck , Satellite dish ( While there is no need to see TV when the surroundings is so beautiful it is a good indication is your house boat is modern . Arrive early to house boat and tip the driver and cook as they make the experince better. Thekaddy - Because we did not get proper infomration about sightseeing we arrived late to thekaddy . Only activity in thekaddy is a full day wildlife trip organized by forest deparment which starts at 5 am . 12.The Corporation shall neither be responsible nor refund the amount in case the tourists miss the bus on account of late reporting to the pickup point.
13.Tipping the staff including the Guide is strictly prohibited. They are paid by KSTDC except for BHS trip.
14.Pets and Animals not allowed inside the bus while on Journey.
15.The management has all the right to make the passengers to get down from the bus, who are travelling on invalid tickets, disturbing the co-passengers & drunken passengers, without any refund.
16.No postponement of journey will be made within 24 hours. There is no refund on cancellation of one time Preponed/Postponed ticket.
17.Tariff is subject to change without notice.
18.Accommodation is subject to availability of the rooms and they are subject to change without prior notice.
19.Senior Citizens are provided with 20% discount on transportation by default while booking ticket. Hence they must produce valid proof.
20.The management shall not be liable for third party suppliers including arrangements with accommodation providers, activity providers and local guides and other independent parties (Third party suppliers) to provide you with some or all the components of your bookings.
21.The management shall not be liable and will not assume responsibility for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointed, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental, resulting from the act or omission of any party other than Tour Operator and its employees.

Piligrims are mandatory to produce either the vaccination certificate(2doses) or Covid-19 negative certificate obtained with in 73hrs prior to date of darshan at the time of availing special entry darshan.
Piligrims to be noted that due to the new guidelines imposed from Tirupathi Tirumala Darshana there will be no cancellations or any modifications allowed before 7 days of departure.
Piligrims to be noted that the data of the tickets booked for Tirupathi darshana is pushed to Tirumala Tirupathi Devastham(TTD) server 7 days in advance before the date of journey, there will be no any modifcations/ cancellations allowed for any unforeseen circumstances (like sudden death of family member, any accidentalissues , etc..)
